Casa Museo Oswaldo Guayasamín
The Casa Museo Oswaldo Guayasamin was opened to the public on January 18, 1992, located in a colonial building that belonged to personalities of the Havana aristocracy as the Lieutenant of the Royal Navy Don Jose Maria Chacon and the Marquesa de Santa Alalla, among many others.
During its restoration, with the aim of turning the building into a museum, they were found in the inner wall paintings signed by famous artist Jose Nicolas de la Escalera undoubtedly jewels of Havana colonial heritage.
The museum, opened thanks to the will of the famous Ecuadorian painter Oswaldo Guayasamin, whom the museum is named, and the Office of the Historian of the City, it has three permanent exhibition halls where many works are exhibited the aforementioned artist plastic, some of his personal belongings and some parts of Latin American folk art in general.
On the top floor of the facility temporary exhibitions of both Cuban and foreign artists performed.
